The Parmenter Foundation Awards Wayland’s Pam Mackill with the Grace Johnson Volunteer Appreciation Award for her dedication to the Camp Erin® Boston

Established in 2005, the award is given annually to an outstanding volunteer from a Parmenter Foundation grantee organization. Pamela Mackill of Wayland, Parmenter Hospice Volunteer, has been named as the recipient of the Grace Johnson Volunteer Award for 2015. Pam was given this award at Parmenter’s Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, held at the Weston Congregational Church. Among her many contributions to Parmenter’s Hospice program, Pam was also honored for her tireless work on behalf of Camp Erin Boston, a bereavement camp for children and teens held annually and sponsored by Parmenter. Pam has fundraised, spearheaded donations throughout the community and worked behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and compassionate program. Parmenter salutes Pam and all of our wonderful volunteers.  They are the heart and soul of our community-based programs.

The Grace Johnson Volunteer Appreciation Award is named in honor of Grace Johnson (1925-2001), a longtime Wayland resident, who contributed hands-on work to numerous charitable organizations. Her quiet strength, her generous spirit and her seemingly endless reserve of commitment to making her community a better, more compassionate place to live earned her the respect and admiration of all who knew her.
